Saturday

* St. Francis Episcopal Church, 1101 Rock Prairie Road in College Station, will host its annual Blessing of the Animals and St. Francis Festival on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the church grounds. All are invited to bring caged or leashed animals for a blessing. Low-cost rabies vaccinations will be available, as well as county tags and microchipping. There will be free food, a petting zoo, obstacle course races and crafts for sale. Animals from the Brazos Animal Shelter and foundations will be available for adoption. The public is invited. Sunday

* First United Methodist Church, 506 E. 28th St. in Bryan, will hold World Communion Sunday worship services at 8:30 and 11 a.m. with the Rev. Matt Idom preaching. Sunday school classes meet at 9:45 a.m. Child care is provided for all worship services. For more information, visit www.fumcbryan.org or call 779-1324.

* First Christian Church, 900 S. Ennis St. in Bryan, will celebrate the first Sunday of the Month of the Ministry at 10:45 a.m. with the Rev. Jesse Myers preaching on "A Life Worthy of Your Calling," based on Ephesians 4:1-6. Sunday school classes for all ages begin at 9:30 a.m. Child care is available.

* Faith United Church UCC, which meets at the Brazos Center at 3232 Briarcrest Drive in Bryan, will hold 9:15 a.m. Sunday study on Max Lucado's book, 3:16: The Numbers of Hope. Fellowship is at 10 a.m. At 10:30 a.m., Pastor Karl Tewold will speak on the topic "Life is a Test." Guests are welcome.

* St. Francis Episcopal Church, 1101 Rock Prairie Road in College Station, will have a potluck lunch following the 10:30 a.m. worship service. The public is invited. For more information, visit www.StFrancisOnline.org or call the church office at 696-1491.

* St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 217 W. 26th St. in Bryan, will have services at 7:30, 9 and 11:15 a.m. The downtown worship service will be at 5 p.m. An animal blessing will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. The community is invited to bring pets in honor of St. Francis Day. Oct. 10-11

* First United Methodist Church, 1125 Wellborn Road in College Station, will host Cornis Wells-Cannon in concert Oct. 10 at 7 p.m. for the church's 65th homecoming celebration. Wells-Cannon is the daughter of the late Rev. K.K. Wells. The homecoming service will be Oct. 11 at 3:30 p.m. The special guest will be the Rev. Brian Dalco and members of Trinity East United Methodist Church in Houston.
