'Seussical' coming to Tiger Theatre

Tiger Theatre at A&M Consolidated High School is presenting Seussical the Musical, based on the works of Dr. Seuss, Thursday through Sunday. The cast, crew and orchestra are composed of students in theater, choir, art, band and orchestra.

Written by Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty, Seussical opened on Broadway in 2000. It is an amalgam of such popular stories as The Cat in the Hat, Horton Hears a Who, Horton Sits on the Egg, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Gertrude McFuzz and McElligot's Pool and is appropriate for all ages. The play is directed by Michele Greene, Consolidated's technical theater teacher.

The cast features Brooke Dooley as The Cat in the Hat, Taylor Beyer as Jojo, Alex Reese as Horton the Elephant, Sarah McKneely as Gertrude Fuzz, Annika Lekven as The Grinch and Cassie Nelson as Yertle the Turtle.

Others in the cast include Kelsie Kullman, Alexa Cepeda, Jesse Drummond, Kendall Vittrop, Averie Wendt, Reagan Wilkins, Morgan Sauseda, Casey Quinn, Andrew Williams, Haley Johnson, Annika Lekven, Piper Cain, Cristina Diaz-Clark, Catherine Koola, Amber Williams, Logan Livingood, Liz Ellis, Maggie Ellison, Natalie Mack, Sophie Duree and Soraya Boraque.

Performances are Thursday through Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m. Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door. To purchase tickets or make reservations, e-mail mgreene@cisd.org.
