— Eagle staff report
A Houston man was in a Temple hospital Friday after being injured in a single-vehicle accident near Navasota the day before.
Texas Department of Public Safety officials said Frank Haney, 59, was traveling north on Texas 6 less than a mile south of Navasota when he lost control of his vehicle, entered the median, struck an embankment and became airborne. The vehicle landed in the ditch near the southbound lanes of Texas 6, according to the DPS trooper who investigated the crash.
Haney was taken by helicopter to Scott & White in Temple. Hospital officials refused to release his condition Friday, but the trooper said he believed Haney suffered a broken ankle and a shoulder injury.
