Areas of Brazos Valley under flood watch

The National Weather Service on Tuesday issued a flood watch affecting Leon, Robertson and Milam counties.

The flood warning is in effect through Wednesday morning for areas including the Little River near Rockdale affecting Milam County and the Navasota river near Easterly affecting Leon and Robertson counties, according to the weather service.

Weather service officials said minor flooding is occurring, but they expected water levels to fall below the flood stage by tonight. Officials urged drivers to not drive through flooded areas and to use caution when walking near river banks.

The weather service also issued a flood watch for the Trinity River near Long Lake, affecting Leon County. The watch is in effect until further notice, officials said.
