Three Bryan residents were in jail Saturday, charged in separate incidents involving family squabbles.
Officers on Friday were called to Gaytha Circle, where a man and woman were fighting over whose turn it was to watch their young children, police said.
The argument turned physical and the woman was taken to St. Joseph Regional Health Center with a hip injury, according to an officer's report. The 23-year-old man was charged with family violence assault and was being held in the Brazos County Jail without bail.
A fight between two brothers in the 2400 block of North Texas Avenue on Friday landed one of the teens in jail, police said. According to police reports, the two were fighting when one picked up the other and tossed him in a trash can, causing minor injuries. A 17-year-old was charged with assault causing bodily injury to a family member and was being held in the Brazos County Jail on $5,000 bail.
Early Saturday, police charged a 45-year-old man with interfering with an emergency call from a woman who wanted him to leave her Sprucewood Street apartment.
After the woman locked the man outside, she told officers, he knocked down the front door and took the phone from her as she was calling police. He was being held at the Brazos County Jail on $4,000 bail.

25 years back the police would have shot some of these thugs and ended the problem.

I recommend a zero tolerance unit. Law Enforcement goes in cycles due to the whims of society. Liberal to conservative, it's happened before and it will happen again. At a certain point people will get tired of people breaking the law and will want "somebody" to do something about it. The problem is that the police have tried but have been told one thing or another from admin who hear it from the council/city manager who hear it from the community. Let the police enforce the law and many of the problems will go away.

Comment Title: Life of trash in a once great city
Bryan slums and ghettos are the fastest thing growing. If it would rain soon then the trash filled over grow yards would be growing also. No Code enforcement to clean it up. The above are the city of Bryan.

Bryan is a clear present danger to Brazos county and CS. They just do not respect others. The high life kills them and they like it.

Bryan needs to improve it's image. Start by getting rid of the gangbangers, thugs and prostitutes. Electing a new mayor would also help.

To The Eagle, Why do you even allow comments on reporting like this. There is not one single post that has anything productive to say or offer a solution. Everybody already knows what CS people feel about Bryan people. ENOUGH!

If it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, walks like a duck, smells like a duck must be a duck. If it looks like a slum, smells like a slum, and acts like a slum must be a slum. AKA BRYAN

You must be a YJLAH and have ten times more problems that a drug addict. Maybe no arrests and crimes but just as much sin. I am just an arrogant, pretentious person who can relate.

Agree: Any City like Bryan with a High composition of ghetto and slum people is just like Bryan. A good reason not to live in Bryan.

Comment Title: Duh.....
Well duh, Bryan is about par with any city in the U.S. that has the same composition. Anytime you have a high majority of YJLAH you will have less crime but more problems !!!!!!

Comment Title: Parent from another city...
I am from Houston and my daughter told me that the large complex she lives in (in CS) is a mecca for crime. Drug dealing, theft, rape and assault are an every day occurance. She is out of this place as we speak. We think she is safer here in Houston.
