Bryan's Crockett marking 60 years

Community members are invited to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Crockett Elementary School in Bryan from 4:30 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday at the school.

Crockett was built in 1949 in response to growing enrollment and is the second oldest school building in Bryan today, officials said.

Many residents, including Crockett Principal Judy Joiner, attended the elementary growing up and will attend the celebration.

Memorabilia, tours and stories will be offered to community members who wish to join in honoring the school, which is at 401 Elm St.
