A nonprofit search-and-rescue group in Bryan needs abandoned buildings for dog-training sessions next weekend.
Cen-Tex Search & Rescue will work Friday through Sunday with nationally renowned search dog instructor Adela Morris from California. Executive Director Ben Alexander said the seminar would focus on using search dogs in crime scene investigations to assist law enforcement agencies.
The group was created in 2002 to train personnel, as well as their dog and horse counterparts, in techniques that could help find missing people, according to the organization's Web site.
Alexander said the group was looking for local abandoned houses, businesses or warehouses to use as training sites on Saturday and Sunday. Buildings already scheduled for demolition are preferred, he said.
If you have a building or a house and are interested in donating its use to Cen-Tex, call Alexander at 739-8353.
