CS city employees given a 4% increase

College Station's five City Council-appointed employees earned 4 percent salary increases during their annual review process this year.

City Manager Glenn Brown's raise brings his annual salary to $172,453. He also receives an $8,400-per-year vehicle allowance, which was unchanged from last year's.

City Attorney Harvey Cargill now makes $141,960 per year, with a $6,000 annual car allowance. Both men received 5 percent raises in 2008.

City Secretary Connie Hooks now makes $77,233 per year; Internal Auditor Ty Elliott earns $79,560 per year; and Municipal Court Judge Ed Spillane earns $99,324 annually. All three receive $6,000 annual vehicle allowances.

The raises are retroactive to Jan. 1.

Figures reported Saturday for the city attorney and city manager were incorrect.
