Back in the good (?) old days when Brazos Cty. allowed only beer & wine and A&M was not coed, we would pick up a bottle across the river and then drive to Huntsville to see the honeys. Gawd how those Sam Houston lads hated Aggies. We had to take an auto that had no Aggie sticker or you could really get into some sticky situations.

Word just in guys this is no great place to be. Chant it over and over all you want, say whatever you please scream, rant and propagate this place is no better than Bryan. The bias in this crap excuse for media is a joke and they pick and choose what crimes they report. Hence you do not often see printed every time one of your "good ole boys" maliciously wounds another person in one of your magnificent smoke free piss holes. A group of yokels continuously busting people for misdemeanors having it reported proudly that they have done such great service to our community. When in actually our community and these petty criminals are keeping their wallets lined while I see plain as day criminals running amok. Yea great job and keep up the good work.

At first I thought it was slanted reporting by The Eagle that made CS appear as safe. It seems as there are four arrests reported in Bryan for every one in College Station. However, after reviewing data from College Station's web site it is apparent that it is not slanted reporting, rather the simple fact that CSPD is not making arrests. For the first two months of 2009 major crimes in CS have Increased by 30% while total arrests have Decreased by 2%. Incidentally, College Station's major crime rate increased 17% in 2008 vs Bryan's increase of 3.5%. Now, I will give credit where credit is due: CS traffic accidents for the two months are down 11%, so I guess the motorcycle officers and cameras are accomplishing their intended purpose.
