A League City teenager charged with driving while intoxicated after police found her car in a pond at a College Station apartment complex has been released from jail.
Karalee Grace Johnson, 18, told police she was trying to leave a party -- where she had been consuming mixed drinks -- at Melrose Apartments on Luther Street when she became lost early Saturday, according to police reports.
After driving through the complex, Johnson told police, she decided to return to her original parking spot. But when she arrived, she accidentally hit the gas instead of the brake, according to police reports.
Her vehicle crashed through a fence and ended up partially submerged in a pond, police said.
College Station police were called to the apartment complex after the accident and found Johnson in the breezeway of one of the buildings. Police reports indicate she failed field sobriety tests and registered .110 and .107 on blood-alcohol breath tests, over the legal limit of .08 percent.
She was released from the Brazos County Jail Saturday on $2,000 bail.

Comment Title: This is the prodigy of America's youth...
I just want to say, for the record, that one teenagers life shouldnt be ruined by an article kept online that can be searched on google or any other search engine for the rest of the life. I personally know Miss Karalee Grace and she has turned her life around and is now doing great in college. She was not drunk at the time, (1.07 is just a little over the legal limit) and was in the wrong place at the wrong time. I hope the Eagle will delete this year-old story and show integrity to a promising teenager.
