Deanville Volunteer Fire Department fundraiser, 7 a.m. Deanville Volunteer Fire Department, F.M. 111 and F.M. 60 in Deanville. 7 a.m. Pit barbecue by the pound ready at 10 a.m.; washer tournament (registration at 8 a.m.); plate lunches served at 11 a.m.; auction at 2 p.m. There will also be a country store and sweet shop, games and train rides for children. Proceeds will go toward insurance, the purchase of new equipment and department costs.

6th Annual Buddy Walk, 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wolf Pen Creek Amphitheater. A 1-mile walk to promote the acceptance and inclusion of people with down syndrome. Around the World in 90 Minutes, 2 p.m. Brazos Valley Museum of Natural History, Brazos Center auditorium. Speaker: Marty Essen, photographer, author, adventurer. Essen's high-energy digital slideshow takes the audience on a worldwide adventure, packed with rare and interesting wildlife. Admission: $5 for adults; $4 for students, children and seniors.
