Nothing But Nets celebration, noon to 3 p.m. A&M United Methodist Church, University Drive. Proceeds will go toward the purchase of insecticide-treated nets that will be sent to Africa and used to prevent the spread of malaria. Nets can be purchased for $10. Event activities include: wrap your favorite athlete, practice your volleyball serve, shoot for two in a basketball free-throw competition and have your picture taken with Santa. Brazos Valley Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4692 Turkey Shoot and Care Package Drive, 1 p.m. Donations of nonperishable snack items, puzzle books and other items would be appreciated. 794 North Harvey Mitchell Pkwy., Bryan. Shotgun range is behind post. Participants shoot at paper targets from 30 yards. Post supplies the ammo (12, 20 and 410 gauge). $17 for first five rounds.
