Memorial Day Observance, 9 a.m. Hearne Depot grounds. Hosted by Hearne's Miles Scrivener American Legion Post. Take a quiet stroll of remembrance around the depot on its old brick sidewalks and go inside the depot to see the local history exhibits. Texas State Rep. Jim Dunnam of the 57th District will make brief remarks and refreshments will be served.

Community-wide Memorial Day Service, 11 a.m. American Legion Post 159, Waco St., Bryan. Keynote speaker: Silver Star recipient David Hutchinson. Former WASP Catherine Chatham will receive the Congressional Gold Medal for Service for her duty as a pilot during WWII. Open to the public. 778-1835.
