Deputies: Man put knife to wife's throat

A College Station man spent a night in the Brazos County Jail after threatening his estranged wife and telling her that he would leave only "in a body bag," authorities said.

Officials with the Brazos County Sheriff's Office said Patrick Wayne Wilson, 41, held a knife to his wife's throat and threatened to kill her family members unless he could see his children.

He told her that if she called 911, he "would be ready" when officers arrived and "they would have to kill him," according to the report.

When deputies arrived at the home on Royder Road early Wednesday, they arrested Wilson without a struggle. Officers said that they found a rifle outside the home's front door and that Wilson had a knife in his pocket.

He was charged with aggravated assault on a family member with a weapon, a second-degree felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison. He also was charged with trespassing and public intoxication.

Wilson was released from the Brazos County Jail on Thursday on $20,000 bail.

I think you misunderstood Charles. College Station needs to hire officers and the county needs to hire officers to patrol that "mini Bryan" area in College Station and the area just outside the city limits referred to by Kevin Harris. One step at at time, have College Station take care of its problems, the county take care of its problems, and then if Bryan has not taken care of its problems then a joint task force can be offered to assist.

Hiring new officers in CS and sending them into Bryan will not fix the Problem also. Bryan resident using up Jail space is the reason for over 100 people now on House arrest and The Low bonds given out also. One can only Hope somebody in Bryan will clean the place up since many now live in fear in Bryan.

When new schools are needed they are built and teachers hired; when new roads are needed they are laid. What is the problem with hiring new officers, city or county, to cope with the growth in crime? Blaming the rise in crime in College Station and its southern and western borders on Bryan holds no water and will do nothing to solve the problem. Check CSPD's arrest reports and you will see that 99% are College Station residents. I can find no online county jail records to agree or disagree with your 80% number. How about posting a link to the site providing the data. Hopefully you are communicating with your county representative regarding your perceived problems and not only voicing your opinion on this site.

We just will not have the officers needed to stop most of this. Bryan is so out of control UPD, CSPD, Texas DPS, Brazos County Sheriffs and Constables have been called into Bryan Slum and Ghettos areas for almost a year now. The county jail is 80% full of Bryan residents and inmates are being shipped to other county's. Bryan has been at riot stage for almost a year now also. It is just is not being reported. Ask a County Law Enforcement person what going on in Bryan. Do not waste your time on a Bryan PD. They are all being investigated by the State Attorney of Texas for leaks, cover ups and the chief has stepped down. The city of Bryan Government has issue also at this time. In short Bryan is take us all down to their level.

I'm in agreement that the area from Luther Street to Wellborn and Hwy 6 to the river is a hotbed of criminal activity. College Station should step up patrols in the area as most of the activity is within the city limits. BCSO could also step up patrols of the area that has the issues noted by Kevin Harris.

First off, none of this even happened. If you actually read police reports on both of them you would see that she ran him over with a truck about a year ago. She is always coming up with stories to get him in trouble and the police believe her b/c she is a female. Stuff like this happens when she doesn't get her way. I think that the person that wrote this article should have done more researce before they decided to drag a good mans name through the dirt. Second, why does it matter where it happened? Bryan or College Station, but have crime.

"This area of the county called mini Bryan is full of criminals." posted by Kevin Harris is talking about an area that is in the county between 2818 and Wellborn word going toward the river. Unfortunately some of you must of attended BISD schools and lack reading comprehension. The only person that continuously makes comments like this is the DA from Bryan or the TAMU/CS basher which are probably the same person. Guilty dog barks loudest and the most and he has done his share on the past few comments. I feel sorry for the people in Bryan having to live in such conditions with riots on Tx Ave. Poor schools, crime and prostitution on every corner. Unfortunately it does not appear change is in the future as people flee for safer places. Even the police chief did not want to live in Bryan.

No Susan. See Brazos County resident's post. He said the man's home is in the county, not the city, which is incorrect. Kevin Harris and others supported this contention, which is incorrect. He also said the area around the man's residence is a mini Bryan. The crime was committed by a person, with a College Station residence, on a person living outside the city limits of College Station. As to whether the location of the man's residence which is inside College Station city limits is a mini Bryan or not, I have no idea. If it is a "mini Bryan" it is College Station's responsibility for additional policing.

Learn to read. You make others in your city look like nit wits. I do not care because I enjoy reading about you trying to make Bryan residents look like fools like you. I also know this is not your attention but is the result of a fine Bryan background. Others in our office now read about you a Bryan supporter bashing yourself and the city and having no idea you are even doing it. You must be the CS basher, the Bryan fool talked about in past weeks. You are a bigger joke then your cities crimes and cover UPS.

The area referred to as mini Bryan, the assailant's address, is clearly within College Station Police Department's jurisdiction. If more policing is required as you suggest, it should be done by College Station Police. In regards to the issues in this area you bring up, I have seen no College Station Police reports indicating any criminal activities out of the normal. Perhaps you will provide a link to some documentation supporting your comment.

People do make terrible grammar and spelling mistakes when posting. The thing that we usually do is to ignore the errors and try to understand the writer's intentions. However, sometimes it gets the best of us, and we must comment on their diction. When we do comment on this, it forces others to scrutinize our writing. Therefore, when going after the writer, we should not use words like "gotta," "kinda," "damned" when we mean "damnedest" and "notice" when we mean "noticed." Proofread before you bang someone over the head.

The previous comment was referring to an area that has been discussed by previous posters called the mini Bryan. It was in response to their postings. You need to go back to school and take reading comprehension. You sound like the person that is always degrading Bryan with foul comments. Like you are a representative of the city. The fact is this area of the county has some issues and I am well aware of it. I am referring to the part the Sheriff's office reported to. Unfortunately you continue to act like you have a Bryan school education by the comments you continue to make that are not based on any facts. Addressed to someone called DA in Bryan you are acting like Bryan residents are stupid and uneducated. But if you consider yourself a DA then why bother to post.

mini Bryan is a figment of your imagination. The area in question is within College Station city limits and therefore, BCSO is limited in what it can do to assist CSPD.

You gotta take these idiots in stride. Kinda humorous: See poster below trying his damned to deny the perp is from College Station. None of them can provide citations for their statistics. One can only wonder what happened to them in Bryan that made them so bitter. Was an employment application turned down, did they get a traffic ticket, are they past felons apprehended by Bryan PD? There is one more possibility - they failed to attain proper credits for a high school diploma at BISD - have you notice their writing, spelling, and punctuation skills?

Every time I waste my time and read these comments I just reassure myself that I have to get out of this place. I have never seen so many eyes shut people. Now I know where my husband get it from. How is it that you can say that Wellborn in College Station is a mini Bryan. The fact is you do not want to admit that College Station is no better then Bryan. I get sick and tired of reading the racist and sterotype remarks about Bryan but then when someone does something that is from College Station you either want to leave no comment and just ignore it or you still want to blame it on Bryan, TX. You can not have it both ways. We both need to clean up our communities instead of trying to ignore the problem by blaming each other.

Comment Title: Bond/Bail
These amounts are set by our very wise Justice of Peace officials. Some are probably set within parameters bound by legal guidelines, but, you have to wonder at times. And about the offenders being compared here - one calmly surrendered to the police, the other ran like a jackrabbit. That might make a difference. But, like I said, these JP's have a lot of discretion. Kind of scary... Back in days past, a certain JP would set bond conditions requiring drug tests that also stated that the person on bond conditions did not have to report or be supervised. Figure that one out. Discretion???
