Event offers a peek at the stars above

Area stargazers will have the chance to view autumn constellations, planets and other celestial objects Friday during a star party at the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum.

The 6 to 10 p.m. event is hosted by the Brazos Region Astronomy Service Society in conjunction with the Bush Library's current exhibit, "Beyond the Moon: NASA's Continuing Mission."

Participants will get star charts and will be able to view Venus, Jupiter, the Ring Nebula, the Andromeda Galaxy and other deep-sky objects through telescopes set up for the event.

The event is dependent on clear weather, and the forecast calls for a star-filled sky and temperatures in the 40s.
