Four Shiro residents lost their home Friday night when a breaker box in the living room apparently sparked an electrical fire, officials said.
The Shiro Volunteer Fire Department, along with Iola, Richards and Bedias volunteers, returned to the home three times after the initial call, as the fire continued to smolder and re-ignite, said Pam Finke, Grimes County commissioner.
The home, occupied by a mother, her daughter and two male boarders, was located off Texas 30.
No other property in the area was damaged and no one was injured, but officials believe the home is a complete loss from smoke and fire damage.
Around 5:30 p.m. Saturday, the home still was smoldering.
Clothing donations and school supplies are being accepted.
The mother, Beth Cole, wears size 10 pants, medium shirts and size 7 1/2 shoes. The daughter, 17, wears size 7 pants, medium shirts and size 9 shoes.
The two male roommates wear medium shirts and 32- or 34-inch waistline pants.
Donations can be dropped off at Country Glitter Jewelry and Gifts in Roans Prairie from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. Sunday.
