Food tasting extravaganza

Marie Szymczak, director of operations at Retreat Hill Winery in Navasota, serves up a small sample of Retreat Hill Rustic Red Reserve to an attendee of the 15th annual Epicurean Extravaganza held at the Brazos County Expo Tuesday night. Many of the representatives and chefs from over two dozen local eateries were dressed in St. Patrick's Day garb, hawking for reservations at their various establishments. Everything from oysters on a shell to gourmet pizza, filet mignon, wrap sandwiches and even the good old American cheeseburger were all available to sample in one place with proceeds from the event to benefit the Brazos Valley Restaurant Association and other organizations.
