After the success of last year's roast of Tom Turbiville, the leadership of the Brazos Valley Museum of Natural History decided to make the event an annual fundraiser, choosing this time to both roast and toast KBTX-TV meteorologist Bob French.
Brazos County Sheriff Chris Kirk, Chamber of Commerce President Royce Hickman and Turbiville will be among the five or so roasters, said Deborah Cowman, the museum's executive director.
Anyone interested in attending the roast at the Miramont Country Club must RSVP by Jan. 10 by contacting the museum via e-mail at education@brazosvalleymuseum.org or by phone at 776-2195.
Already, 2,100 invitations were sent out locally, and there are only 300 seats.
Tables of 10 can be reserved for $1,000. Individual seats go for $60. Cocktails will be served at 6 p.m., and dinner is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. Dress is cocktail attire.
Last year, the event raised $10,000 for the museum. This year, the goal is to raise $20,000, Cowman said.
