Gardners set to lead Christmas parade

David and Julia Gardner have been named grand marshals for the 82nd Annual Bryan-College Station Christmas Parade, which will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday.

The two will lead 123 entries in the parade, which starts at Polo Road on the Texas A&M campus and proceeds down University Drive to Texas Avenue, ending at Sulphur Springs Road in Bryan.

Parade organizers said the owners of David Gardner's Jewelers were the first choice for leading the parade because of their dedication to making the community a better place.

Also appearing in the parade will be Bryan Mayor Mark Conlee, College Station Mayor Ben White and Texas A&M University President Elsa Murano.
