The following will be open and closed Monday, Columbus Day:
* Schools: There will be no classes in Bryan and College Station public schools, but Monday is a staff training day in both districts. Classes will resume Tuesday. Allen Academy and St. Michael's Academy will not have classes Monday. St. Joseph Catholic School and Brazos Christian School will hold classes as usual. Navasota, The Somerville and Hearne school districts will hold classes Monday, but Madisonville campuses will be closed.
* Colleges: Blinn College and Texas A&M University will hold classes as usual.
* Banks: Some banks and financial institutions will be open. The NASDAQ and NYSE stock markets will remain open.
* Courts: The Brazos County Courthouse and Bryan and College Station municipal courts will be open.
* Post offices: There will be no regular mail delivery Monday and no window service at post office branches.
* Government: Bryan and College Station city offices will be open, as will many state offices. Federal offices will be closed.
* Buses: The District's Bryan-College Station bus service will operate as usual.
* Newspaper: The Eagle will be open.
