Holiday closures

The following is a list of what will be open and closed Friday in recognition of the Independence Day holiday.

* Texas A&M University: The College Station campus, system offices and state agencies will be closed.

* Blinn College: Campus offices will be closed Friday; summer classes will begin Monday.

* Post offices: The main Bryan post office on William Joel Bryan Parkway will be open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., the downtown Bryan location from 8 a.m. until noon. Windows will be open from 9 a.m. to noon at Northgate and at the main College Station post office on Harvey Mitchell Parkway. Post offices will be closed Saturday.

* Banks: Most area banks will be open Friday.

* Libraries: The Bryan Public Library, Carnegie History Center and Larry J. Ringer Library will be closed Friday and will resume normal business hours Monday.

* Municipal offices: Bryan and College Station city offices will be closed Friday.

* Utilities: Bryan Texas Utilities and College Station Utilities will be closed Friday and will resume normal business hours Monday.

* Courts: Closed.

* County offices: Closed.

* Federal offices: Most agencies closed.

* The District bus service: Normal route schedule.

* Trash collection: Sanitation routes will run as usual in College Station, but there will be no recycling collection and no makeup day. In Bryan, trash routes will run on normal schedules Friday and Saturday. Bryan's compost facility and recycling center will be closed Saturday.

* Newspaper: The Eagle business office will be closed Friday. Newspapers should be delivered by 6 a.m. If you miss your paper, call 776-2345 before 10 a.m.
