Eagle Staff Report
A man was airlifted to the College Station Medical Center on Thursday evening following a four-wheeler accident that happened in Grimes County.
Sheriff's Deputy Steven Siracusa said he responded to the call just after 7 p.m. about half a mile north of Anderson along Texas 90.
He said a 21-year-old man, Kevin Wheeler, was riding the off-road vehicle on his parent's property in the dark, when he hit his head on a large branch.
Siracusa said Wheeler had a large gash on his head and was conscious, but had difficulty answering questions.
Medics decided to transport him via PHI helicopter to the College Station hospital about 8 p.m.
Further information was not available about the man's condition.
