Man held on felony drug, gun charges
Eagle Staff Report
A 40-year-old Bryan man remained in the Brazos County Jail late Friday on drug and weapons charges.
College Station police said they found about 6.8 ounces of marijuana bagged for sale during a search of Torrance Earl Williams' Pate Lane residence Thursday morning.
They also found two shotguns in Williams' bedroom, according to a police report.
Because Williams was convicted of felony possession of marijuana in September, he is not allowed to have a firearm, police said.
One of the shotguns had been sawed off, making the barrel shorter than the 18 inches required by law, according to the police report.
Williams was charged with possession of more than four ounces of marijuana, a felony punishable by up to two years in a state jail and a $10,000 fine.
He was also charged with unlawful possession of a firearm and possession of a prohibited firearm. Both are third-degree felony charges punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
His bail was set at $10,000.

I am confused. All indications are that Williams lives at the Pate R. on HWY 30, west of FM158/Hwy 30 junction. The jail/court records website had been down for 2-3 weeks, but while checking it again they list his address as the Pate Ln. in Bryan. Why would CSPD be searching his home if it were in Bryan? If it were a warrant arrest, wouldn't BPD or constables handle it? And there was no mention of a warrant. If I was incorrect in my previous post, then I'll admit it.

Primarily because College Station residents have such a huge appetite for drugs. Does that answer your question satisfactorily?

BTW it was Pate Rd. off hwy 30, not Pate Ln. in Bryan. a) read the story: "College Station Police...", b) consult the police blotter map on this site, c) consult the CSTx website CSPD significant activity for 06/25/09: 09-007952 0810 POSSESSION OF A PROHIBITED WEAPON – 100 PATE MURPH ARRESTED: WILLIAMS, TORRANCE ALSO: POSSESSION OF A FIREARM BY A FELON AND POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA

You are looking waaaay too deep. If its a College Station resident the cops are wasting time and money. If it is a Bryan resident then the cops are doing an outstanding job.

Pate Ln. is off of Old Kurten Rd. near 21 and 6. BTW, anybody notice that when it is a weed arrest and those arrested are white college kids, the responses are mostly about how the cops are wasting tax payer money on something that should be legal? But when it is a minority that is arrested the cops did a great job? Just saying. Thanks CSPD for going after all of them.

This Bryan Entrepreneur was doing his best to supply the demands of College Station residents. What's the problem? He should be commended by the College Station City Council.

Every low life in Bryan has guns drugs and stolen items from a College Station Resident. We work they steal. Later the return into their gated Bryan HUD housing Unit with a pool like the one that had the drive by shooting in front of the Sheriff's offices last week. It getting old paying for the Bryan Good life of Crime. CS needs to wall off Bryan fast. I not sure I can support anymore people on welfare in Bryan and it's overflow coming into College Station that have been pushed out by stronger Bryan Mexican Narco gangs.
