No one was injured in an early morning house fire Sunday that destroyed much of a Rockdale home, officials said.
Firefighters from the Rockdale Volunteer Fire Department spent about three hours extinguishing the blaze that began before dawn on Calhoun Street, a dispatcher said. No one was inside the house.
Authorities were called to the fire just before 5 a.m.
Officials said the fire appears to have been started by a small transformer outside the home -- engulfing the front of the home in flames.
