An 18-year-old Bryan man who was running from police surrendered after officers demanded that he stop acting stupid, officials said.
Officers said they were patrolling the parking lot of the Reveille Ranch Apartments on Thursday when they noticed a group of people with alcohol.
When the group spotted the officers, the people began to walk in different directions, police said.
When officers asked one of the men to stop, police said, he took off running.
Police said they chased him for a while but he gave up after officers yelled, "This is stupid. Stop!"
He was charged with evading arrest, a misdemeanor, and released from the Brazos County Jail on $2,500 bail.
