A 27-year-old man repeatedly hit his head against the Plexiglas in a patrol car and had to be pushed into a jail cell, police said.
The Victoria resident was charged with resisting arrest and transport, a Class A misdemeanor with a maximum punishment of a $4,000 fine and a year behind bars.
College Station police said they arrested the man on a charge of public intoxication off Rock Prairie Road around 2 a.m. Monday. Once inside the patrol car, he started banging his head against the Plexiglas separating the front and back seats while speaking incoherently, authorities said.
The man repeatedly asked officers whether they were going to assault him and had to be pulled out of the vehicle after refusing to get out, police said. Once inside a holding cell, police said, he struck an officer in the leg with his fist without causing injury and continued to struggle with police as they attempted to remove him for fingerprinting.
He was released from the Brazos County Jail on $4,000 bail.

Comment Title: thanks for the good laugh
As a liberal, just let me say that my contemporaries and I have gotten a good laugh out of the bulk of these comments, but nothing, and I mean NOTHING, gets us going like the suggestion that The Eagle is a liberal newspaper. Please stop! My ribs are hurting!

To A few facts: Do you care to substantiate your stated "fact" that "The number of people in BCS that refuse to read the Eagle for being liberal is shocking." Or, is it just shocking to you, but wait, you seem to still be reading the Eagle.

The Eagle is not losing readers, they are losing the cowardly commenters who hide behind the no registration process. Asking for a log-in is not inhibiting free speech. And taking down ugly, hateful comments is not violating your rights. Might want to read a paragraph or two on Con Law...

ABC40 post instantly. KBTX is like the Eagle it censors. The Eagle was pulling comments and news events also. The number of people in BCS that refuse to read the Eagle for being liberal is shocking.

Comment Title: ABC 40 VS KBTX VS The Eagle
The Eagle may be a liberal rag, but at least they let you post instantly. (When their website works) They may remove later, but the other two pull anything they don't deem appropriate. ABC 40 Which I didn't even know existed until a person on the Eagle mentioned it, censors EVERYTHING. They had a page full of grammar, spelling and punctuation errors and when I pointed out John Cuoco's errors, they corrected them and never printed the comments. Leave the liberal Eagle alone at least you can freely comment here and enjoy the LOLS that brings without being censored.

Comment Title: fuzzy logic
You have commented on your opposition to The Eagle's new method of posting comments and it has benn posted: that is free speech. Even a daily Limbaugh listener can understand that. Seriously, are you saying that conservatives can't handle a login registration? And what makes you think KBTX doesn't censor? They monitor everything before it is posted.

What makes you Eagle bashers think that the number of comments is indicative of the number of readers? I see little, if any, correlation between the MOST POPULAR - Viewed and Commented. Only this story appears on the Viewed and Commented sections.

Comment Title: The eagle is losing in the end
Even a liberal must understand that the eagle is losing readers because of there decision to censor all readers. If you look at kbtx or abc40 you can plainly see that those sites comment section has gone up since the eagle made the move. I very rarely check the eagle anymore after there poor decision and i am not the only one. I have talked to a few people at work who no longer read the eagle because the liberals seem to be controlling the paper.

You couldn't compete with Floyd's remarks so you had to resort to insults. How very conservative of you. But Floyd is right on the mark.

Comment Title:
Floyd you are a perfect example of todays liberal. You and John Edwards probably have something in common, since you tell people what to do and think then do the exact opposite. Your statements on other commentaries (about being uneducated, uninformed and impertinent) is proof of a controlling liberal mind. As for the Eagle, their readership and advertisement have steadily declined over the last few years. Their placement of articles written by the LA Times and San Francisco newspapers is evidence of a liberal bias. As far as the Eagle is concerned I would not expect it to go on in the current shape without a sell out or management change. If the paper feels that the past articles from screaming liberal newspapers is reflective of Bryan College Station it is no wonder they are failing today. You can continue to support this however, expect it to go the way of Air America ( another liberal institution) any time.

Comment Title:
The past major tenant of a Liberalism was freedom of speech. This is not the case for today. EXP. MSNBC, NBC, US-MAG, LA,Times, New York Times. A aggressive attack on anyone with a view point other then a Liberal view is controlled by the media today. EXP. MSNBC's liberal pundits Keith Oldermann and Chris Matthews. Just add the Eagle to the list of up and coming failed news papers like the ones in LA, and New York. The small size of the paper and lack of distribution in the next counties now is proof of like of readership. The lack of comments and printed stories in the Eagle as well as advertisement in the Eagle is proof of a failed liberal agenda at this paper. The Eagle's sensorship is an indication of its loony left wing agenda. This is causing them readership and advertising dollars today.

Comment Title: Thank you for the nuisance
I find it interesting that a discussion of freedom of speech should appear under a police report. Nevertheless, our ill-informed commenters below illustrate a case in point by managing to log on under three different postings to expound on their misinterpretation of the Bill of Rights. Freedom of speech does not come without responsibility. The Eagle has merely managed to interject the slightest hint of an accounting of who says what in these comments. It will not affect their readership one iota. Further, the notion that some sort of liberal crusade is at the root of this change in policy illustrates the height of ignorance. An educated person understands that a major tenet of the liberal mindset is strong support for freedom of speech. The commenters below are neither educated, nor informed, nor pertinent.

Sounds like some BCS liberals run the Eagle. All the comments are way down on any item. If the Eagle does not like freedom of speech try Cuba.

Comment Title: Get real
How hard can it be to type in your password and ID? Seriously! What I think is the real problem is people are not wanting to comment on this because they are to use to bashing Bryan, and this happened in College Station. That or they are affaid someone will figure out who they are making all these dumb --- comments.

Comment Title: Liberal trash
I agree with oldsalty what was the eagle thinking when they did this? They propbably listened to a few crybabies and now they are losing readers in order to keep a few liberals from crying big mistake eagle shame on you.

Comment Title: go back to the old
Looks like ever since the eagle installed the new comment login ID, that most people are not leaving comments and our going over to the kbtx comment section. (they do not require a login). Look at how many comments are on here now compared to the spike in the kbtx website. Looks like the eagle shot themselves in the foot and are loosing readers. Its called freedom of speech Eagle. Sure you will cut down alot of negative comments, but also loose alot of inteligent ones too. The idiots wont stop making the negative comments anyway, so yall should go back to the easier form of posting. Its no secret that less people are buying the newspaper these days, so you might want the best website in the brazos!! Till then i will be posting on the KBTX website and getting my news from there. Dont be so pc eagle!!
