A 28-year-old Boise, Idaho, man was released from jail Wednesday after being caught on surveillance cameras taking a vehicle from a College Station towing company's yard, authorities said.
The man was charged with trespassing and theft of service, a misdemeanor punishable by up to 180 days in jail and a $2,000 fine.
College Station police officers pulled the vehicle over around 11 p.m. Tuesday and arrested the driver after the vehicle was reported stolen from Tribble & Son's Wrecker service.
According to police reports, the man admitted jumping over the business's fence and driving off with the vehicle when the gate was opened by an employee bringing in another vehicle.
