Brazos Miracle Outreach Church, 1400 Turkey Creek Road in Bryan, is hosting Veggie Tale Pirates vacation Bible school Monday through Friday from 6 to 8:30 p.m.
Kids ages 4 to 12 are invited. There will be songs, Bible stories, snacks, science experiments and games.

First United Methodist Church, 506 E. 28th St. in Bryan, will host a special worship service Monday at 10:30 a.m. in celebration of its 140th anniversary.
Some of the church's former pastors will be on hand. Holy Communion will be celebrated, and the service will be followed by a dinner.

First Christian Church, 900 S. Ennis in Bryan, will hold a groundbreaking ceremony for an addition to its facilities Sunday at 10:25 a.m.
The $650,000 addition will join the two existing buildings and provide a gathering space.
Also on Sunday, the church will install the Rev. Jesse Myers as its senior minister. Myers was previously at First Christian Church of Cameron, Mo. The installation will take place during the 10:45 a.m. worship service.
Trinity Baptist Church, 1070 N. Harvey Mitchell Parkway in Bryan, will have a "Wild West Rodeo" on July 27 to kick off its Cactus Canyon vacation Bible school. The rodeo will begin at 4 p.m.
There will be a water slide, face painting, hay rides and more.
Food will be served, and participants will be able to register for the vacation Bible school, which runs from July 28 through Aug. 1.

The Onetime Gospel Singers will perform at ninth-anniversary services at St. Paul Baptist Church, 702 W. 6th St. in Hearne, at 7 p.m. Saturday and 4:30 p.m. Sunday.
The guest speaker will be Elder Ortiz Green of The Way the Truth and the Life Church.
Musical guests will be God's Little Angels of Bryan, NuFocus of Huntsville and Diane Martel and Chosen Generation of Austin.
