Religion notes

Saturday

* St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 217 W. 26th St. in Bryan, will hold St. Andrew's Ville from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the youth hall. Cost of admission is a can of food to benefit the church food pantry. Enter through outside metal stairs on the parking lot side of the building.

* The Brazos Valley Chapter of the American Guild of Organists will present "Spooktacular" at 7:30 p.m. at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Bryan. There will be silly and spooky organ music, a dramatic reading of The Witch of Endor, singing of "pumpkin carols" and fun for all ages. Costumes are welcome. Free.

* Children of all ages and their families are invited to trunk-or-treat at Christ United Methodist Church, 4201 Texas 6 in College Station, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. There will be games, crafts and trunk-or-treating. For more information, contact Rachel Jumper at 690-4673.

Sunday

* A&M United Methodist Church, 417 University Drive in College Station, will present the Bluegrass Mass musical performance during regular 8:30 and 11 a.m. worship services. The Bluegrass Mass was written by Carol Barnett and will be accompanied by local bluegrass musicians playing guitar, banjo, mandolin and string bass. * First Christian Church, 900 S. Ennis St. in Bryan, will observe All Saints' Day at the 10:45 a.m. worship service with the traditional reading of the names of those who have passed away. The Rev. Jesse Myers will preach on "Looking Forward," based on Isaiah 25:6-9 and Isaiah 21:1-6a. Sunday school classes for all ages begin at 9:30 a.m., and child care is available.

* Christ United Methodist Church, 4201 Texas 6 in College Station, will hold services at 8:15, 9:30 and 11 a.m. The Rev. Jerry House Jr. continues the sermon series "The Gospel of John." Sunday school for all ages is at 9:30. Child care is available at all three services and Sunday school.

* First United Methodist Church, 506 E. 28th St. in Bryan, will hold All Saints' worship services at 8:30 and 11 a.m. with the Rev. Matt Idom preaching on the emotion of joy. Holy Communion will be celebrated. All deceased church family members will be recognized for All Saints'. Sunday school classes meet at 9:45 a.m. Child care is provided for all worship services. * Pilgrims in the Park, an open-air church for everyone, meets at 11 a.m. at Neal Park, 600 W. 22nd St. in Bryan. Pastor Lenni Lissberger will continue a journey through Genesis, speaking on "Giving God a Boost." Services are held regardless of the weather.

* Central Christian Church, 8125 Turkey Creek Road in Bryan, holds a classic worship service of hymns and gospel songs each Sunday at 8:30 a.m. The church is behind the Parsons Mounted Cavalry site on Harvey Mitchell Parkway.

Nov. 6-7

* St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 2310 Airline Drive in Brenham, will hold an art show, beginning with an opening reception and silent auction from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday. The show and sale continues on Nov. 7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Gerry Adamson, 88, will be the honored artist. The show will also feature nearly 20 artists from the church. Each artist has donated a work for the silent auction. The works include paintings, pottery, exquisite wood-carved birds, textiles, egg-shell mosaics and gourd carvings. Many will be for sale.
