Search is on for armed robber in CS

An armed robber remained on the run late Monday after College Station police said he approached a person in an apartment complex parking lot.

Authorities responded to a call at about 8 p.m. after a person reported being robbed at gunpoint at Walden Pond Apartments on Harvey Mitchell Parkway, officials said.

The man, who fled the scene, was described as a black male about 5-foot-7 with a skinny build and wearing braids. Police said he was last seen in a light blue hoodie-type sweatshirt with lettering on it and and blue athletic shorts.

The culprit used a silver-colored pistol during the offense, which is considered a first-degree felony punishable by up to life in prison and a fine of $10,000.

Sgt. D.K. Muxworthy wrote in a statement that an unknown amount of cash was taken.

He said anyone with information is asked to call police at 764-3600.
