Steve & Barry's will close its store in Post Oak Mall, a corporate spokeswoman for the clothing retailer said Tuesday.
Rachel Brenner, spokeswoman for the New York-based company, said the company didn't have a closing date for the store.
Steve & Barry's and 63 affiliates initiated Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings in early July, blaming a poor economy.
BH S&B Holdings, a newly formed affiliate of investment firms Bay Harbour Management and York Capital Management, bought the company out of bankruptcy in August.
"BH S&B Holdings is going to run the chain as a smaller base of stores of approximately 170 stores, versus 276 pre-bankruptcy," Brenner said.
Steve & Barry's opened its Post Oak Mall store in mid-2005, according to Steve & Barry's. It sells sportswear, footwear, collegiate-licensed clothing and celebrity-launched lines, including Sarah Jessica Parker's BITTEN, dear by Amanda Bynes and EleVen by Venus Williams.
The company also is closing a store in the Brazos Mall in Lake Jackson, but stores in Pasadena, Houston, Spring, Humble and Katy will remain open, officials said.
