A Department of Public Safety trooper and two other people were injured early Thursday morning when a vehicle crashed into the trooper's patrol car on Texas 6.
Trooper Justin Stohler had stopped Angie Maratita, 25, of Fort Rucker, Ala., on the northbound shoulder just south of F.M. 159, DPS officials said.
Stohler was working in the passenger side of his vehicle when a vehicle driven by Sean Turner, 25, of Tennessee Colony, veered onto the shoulder and struck Stohler's patrol car, pushing it into Maratita's vehicle, troopers said.
Stohler's cruiser was totaled, and Maratita's car sustained about $3,000 damage, officials said.
Maratita, who was standing outside her vehicle when the accident occurred, was taken to College Station Medical Center with serious injuries, Stohler reported. Hospital officials would not release her condition Thursday afternoon but said she was stable.
Stohler and Turner were treated and released from the hospital.
No one had been cited or arrested Thursday afternoon.
