Two indicted on charges of firing shotgun at man

Two men were indicted Thursday on charges of firing a shotgun at another man in October.

Bryan resident Myron LeKeith Chambers and College Station resident Marion Sam Jones III were arguing with the man at an apartment complex on Valley View Drive in College Station when one of them fired the gun twice, police said. The victim was not hurt but told police that he heard shotgun pellets skipping off the ground beside him.

Jones, 28, and Chambers, 26, left in a vehicle and refused to stop when police located them, authorities said. Jones, who was driving, crashed the car into a pole near Texas Avenue and Harvey Mitchell Parkway, police said.

Both men were charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second-degree felony punishable by two to 20 years in prison.

Jones was also indicted on a state jail felony charge of evading arrest with a vehicle, punishable by between 180 days and two years in jail.

An indictment is not a finding of guilt but indicates that a grand jury believes enough evidence exists to proceed with a criminal trial.

In all, 19 people were indicted Thursday by the grand jury convened by the 85th District Court.

Damond Castle, 28, of College Station was indicted on a first-degree felony charge of aggravated kidnapping, punishable by between five and 99 years in prison.

Castle grabbed a woman whom he knew in a College Station parking lot by the hair and pulled her into his car, police said. The woman attempted to escape, but Castle locked the doors and threatened her with a gun, police said.

The woman told police that she was repeatedly threatened by Castle for hours as he drove the car and demanded to know whether she was "involved with" any other men. Castle repeatedly hit the woman with a gun and punched her in the abdomen, she told police.

Comment Title: How does an article about CS thugs lead to Bryan bashing?
This article is about College Station criminals, yet several people are on here bashing Bryan???? This makes no sense at all. When will you people stop turning a blind eye to the crime that goes on in C.S.? until then it will continue to get worse in both cities. P.S.- there are more reports of Bryan criminals getting caught because BPD actually goes out and catches criminals instead of driving around and looking for people parke in the grass so they can ticket them like C.S.PD does!

Bryan residents and Government are pathetic. This type of action is what made Bryan what it is today.

What I'd still like to know is why the Mayor Pro Tem of College Station would thank a convicted criminal for apologizing for his criminal activities. Does this Mayor Pro tem speak of all College Station residents? Might need an investigation here.

Let us hope Silva and McIlhaney do not vouch for the character of the two criminals from College Station mentioned in the article. All we need is to have this trash paroled and back on our streets.

I agree, College Station is becoming just too dangerous to visit. Never go alone or always carry a weapon.

Comment Title: Bryan criminals are a clear and present danger to the People of Texas.
Basically you in BCS are one city, But in real life you are two cities. The crime numbers speak for them self. The crimes it's government and people covering up and the way it's city citizens founds this acceptable makes Bryan the fools of Texas. I read about 3 and 4 generation of Bryan families taking pride siting in Bryan HUD complexes on welfare and taking drugs and loving ever minute of this life style as the plan how to steal from CS residents like their family before them. The Person know as they CS-AM-Basher from Bryan is a perfect example of a thug Bryan Citizen and family.

Comment Title: Bryan citizens should be ashamed of themselves for concealing their crimes.
Bryan criminal behavior is the subject. It clear By CS low crime rate and Bryan high crimes rate, one of the highest in the USA. Based of FBI data. That people in Bryan found this behavior Fine in Bryan.

Well, the Morrow incident just goes to show you that you become what you associate with. Morrow picked up this vile behavior in College Station, moved to Bryan and chummed around with Watkins and voila, Watkins picked up the same vile habit. Makes you wonder which College Station resident(s) introduced Morrow to this behavior?

It isn't former College Station mayor Ron Silva who asked for leniency for Romei. It wasn't former College Station mayor and current mayor pro tem Lynn McIlhaney who thanked convicted felon Paul Urso for apologizing for taking bribes and costing CS several hundred thousand dollars. Tell us, tell us.

The good life was just too good in Bryan for your city MGR also. On a positive note a past mayor of Bryan that was very respected moved to College Station. They even made a movie based on a true event he was in. Hint: Junction Boy

Posted by: Bryan is so dangerous even their Police chief lived in College Station. On: 12/5/2008

Comment Title:
And look at the behavior he learned from his College Station neighbors. Disgraceful and that behavior that apparently is tolerated in College Station will NOT be tolerated in Bryan.

That is correct, it is not the way to woo women. You have to "swat" them or break their nose with some really good sex. Take some lessons here guys, our chief nows how to set the examples.

Thank goodness that College Station resident thug Marion Sam Jones III cannot drive and shoot at the same time. Elsewise, someone might have gotten hurt.

Comment Title:
I thought the behavior exhibited by Castle would no longer exist since A&M turned co-ed. Seems not - appears as though College Station "men" still do not know how to woo women.

This (Valley View) area of College Station is becoming increasingly dangerous. It is less than two miles from the Kroger parking lot where the 97 yr. old lady was mugged by another College Station resident. Be aware of your surroundings while traveling in this area.

We can breath a little easier now that these College Station thugs are off our streets. However, we must remain vigilant as we have many more like these on our streets.

Do not leave your car unattended on college station streets or it will be stripped. CSPD has not yet caught any of these criminals who break into our cars.

Comment Title: Where is Jamie@CS to defend her beloved cesspool
Its funny how several people post on every article that mentions the word Bryan about how terrible a town we live in, but when these same atrocities happen in College Station, they are nowhere to be found. YOU ARE COWARDS!

Posted by: On: 12/5/2008

Comment Title:
College Station has too many residents like Damond Castle. CSPD needs to clean up more of this trash instead of giving tickets.
