Three people wanted by Brazos County authorities were arrested the day their photos were featured with seven others in a wanted poster advertisement in The Eagle.
"The wanted fugitive part of our program has been very successful," said Brazos County Sheriff Chris Kirk. "But featuring 10 at once really lit up our phones, so it was really neat to see that."
Kirk said the Sheriff's Department received tips about all but one of those featured, and four have been arrested.
Because of the success of the ad, similar wanted posters will run in The Eagle every Tuesday and online at www.theeagle.
com.
Tips already are coming into the department on the second group of fugitives listed in the ad in this week's paper, Kirk said.
Only one of those arrested put up a fight when officers showed up, Kirk said.
"A tip came in that Marshall [Wayne Berry] was in Burleson County," Kirk said. "So our deputies met with Burleson County deputies to serve the warrant, and Berry ran on foot."
The deputies chased him down and took him into custody on Oct. 20. He remains in jail without bail.
Berry, 39, was wanted on a motion to revoke probation stemming from a murder charge.
Amy Alicia Buchanan, 40, was arrested in College Station at her job, Kirk said.
She was arrested Oct. 20 on a motion to revoke her probation from a theft charge and was released Oct. 28.
Ronald Darnell Sweed, 46, was wanted on a motion to revoke probation from a felony driving while intoxicated charge. He was arrested in his Bryan home without incident Oct. 20 and remains behind bars without bail.
Martin Reyes Jiminez, 25, turned himself in at the urging of family members Friday and remains in jail without bail.
He was wanted on a motion to revoke probation stemming from a charge of manufacturing or delivery of a controlled substance.
