The Wheelock Community Center Association on Friday will host its 14th annual Fourth of July parade and barbecue.
The ceremony will be at 10 a.m. on the steps of the community center with the parade following.
The route will go down Barziza Street, turn north on F.M. 46, left on F.M. 391 and will turn on Commerce Street returning the community center for lunch.
The Wheelock Methodist Church on the corner of Barziza and Commerce Streets will be open and offer parking areas for parade spectators.
Barbecue plates will be sold until 1 p.m. for $8 and will include brisket, sausage, potato salad, coleslaw, beans, and dessert. A variety of music will be played including gospel, country, classic rock and contemporary Christian.
Proceeds from a silent auction will go to the preservation and restoration of the community center.
