The Huntsville Half Marathon & 5K Run/Walk will be held Oct. 11. Both races begin at 8 a.m. in front of the Health & Kinesiology Center on the campus of Sam Houston State University. The race is managed by Seven Hills Running Club. Entry fee through Sunday is $25 for the half marathon and $15 for the 5K. Cost on race day is $35 for the half marathon and $25 for the 5K. Proceeds will benefit the Good Shepherd Mission and the SAAFE House in Huntsville. Each participant will receive a T-shirt and refreshments. www.7hills.us or 936-295-4291.

Navasota Noon Lions Club's Third Annual Navasota Classic Car Show, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., downtown Navasota. The show is open to pre-1974 cars and trucks.
