Police say suspect trapped by car tire
A 22-year-old Bryan man was in jail Tuesday night, accused of evading police and crashing into a parked vehicle.
Bryan officers tried to stop Curtis Goosby's vehicle Monday night because it matched the description of one they were looking for, but he didn't stop until he ran into a parked truck near Westchester Avenue, according to police reports.
Police said they pulled Goosby from the vehicle because he was reaching for something and they thought he might have a weapon. But when he was out of the vehicle, officials said, it started rolling forward, forcing an officer to dive into the car and apply the brake.
Goosby fell as the car began to roll away, catching his pants under a tire and forcing officers to move the vehicle to free him, police said.
He was charged with evading arrest and possession of a controlled substance, state jail felonies that can bring two years behind bars.
He was being held in the Brazos County Jail on $17,000 bail.
