Centralizing is a good management technique because, unlike any other similar strategy, it manages to build the streamlining concept and it manages to keep track of the process of building and implementing this concept. I have attended a session once of Phlebotomist training and I recognized the same strategy behind it. This must have been the key that made the program so successful.

Whats your solution elf? Ohh I know, replace the administration with 100% pro faculty staff that give you your 300K paycheck, get rid of football and any extra curricular activities which have been shown to enhance the educational experience and get rid of all business practices. I see. So one sided aren't we?

Why, you sound like a race baiter that is bitter. The comments about nepotism, ethical corruption and religious zealotry (are you projecting here?) are products of the real world. So, welcome to the real world my telecommuter by plane friend.

I would be happy if they realized that it's the students and faculty that make up the core functions of the university, not athletics or their machinations at the top.

As it is, because of their decimation of staff, more of the responsibility of keeping a department running goes toward the faculty - who are plenty busy enough.

First and last time I went through Easterwood airport to telecommute to my high-tech job in SF, I was literally treated like a terrorist by the racist and clueless security personnel because of my name and my Middle Eastern descent. The problems TAMU infrastructure is having are much bigger than IT. The real problem is the rampant ignorance and entitlement that is being proliferated by fat cat overpaid elitists sitting in power who have suppressed and marginalized extremely valuable people who have contributed amazing works to society but are continued to be suppressed in favor of blatant nepotism, racism, religious zealotry and ethical corruption. I hope they learn their lessons before they rob the school and its future generations of students of the opportunity to acquire relevant skills and critical knowledge in the 21st century.

I would feel much better if ANYONE in the BOR or the Chancellor's office had ever conducted independent research OR taught University level classes. These people are ignorant of what it is that a university is supposed to accomplish and how those goals are best achieved. They understand football, business practices but not teaching and research. We need to replace the administration at TAMU to improve the functioning of the university.

I really wish he would stop referring to the entire system as A&M. He wants to merge the two. Let us be! The public is more confused than ever as to what A&M is vs what the system is.
