The Texas A&M University System has announced the creation of the largest solar test site in the world to power the entire Texas A&M University-Central Texas campus and greatly expedite the development of photovoltaic solar technologies.
The ambitious project was announced in Killeen on Thursday by A&M System Chancellor John Sharp and A&M-Central Texas President Marc Nigliazzo. The university will collaborate with California-based PPA Partners to create the Center For Solar Energy, a $600 million project that will span up to 800 acres in Bell County.
