Two people were killed early Friday and a third was critically injured in an auto accident on Texas 21 in Bryan, police said.
The accident happened around 6:45 a.m. in the 2700 block of West Texas 21.
Officials said 39-year-old Juan Vanagas and 79-year-old Refugio Vanegas, both of Bryan, were in a pickup that was stopped in the driveway of a business waiting to enter the highway when another pickup traveling west on Texas 21 left the road and struck the driver’s side of the waiting truck.
The impact caused the vehicle that was waiting to roll over and come to rest on its top. The other pickup came to rest on its side.
Officials said Juan Vanegas and Refugion Vanegas were killed, and a third man in the truck was critically injured. The 42-year-old, whose name was not released by police, was taken to CHI St. Joseph hospital in Bryan. His condition was not know late Friday, but officials said he was stable.
Two people in the truck that lost control received minor injuries, police said.
No charges had been filed late Friday, and the case remained under investigation.
