Two Bryan men were in the Robertson County Jail without bail Thursday evening on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and burglary of a building.
Robertson County Sheriff Gerald Yezak said a Camp Creek Lake resident returned home around 1:10 p.m. Thursday to find a van backed up to his workshop.
Two men nearly hit the resident with the vehicle while driving off, he said.
The resident followed the van until deputies could respond, Yezak said, and both men eventually jumped out of the van and ran off.
Michel Knight, 28, was arrested about a mile south of U.S. 79 about 3:45 p.m., Yezak said. And 26-year-old Jacque Willis was arrested on F.M. 1940 about 15 minutes later, he said.
The vehicle, which was full of what is believed to be stolen items, was impounded, Yezak said. A search warrant will be executed Friday, Yezak said.
Burglary of a building is a state jail felony punishable by up to two years behind bars. Aggravated assault with a deadly weapon is a second-degree felony, punishable by up to 20 years in jail.
