Bryan police on Friday said they were investigating a 12-year-old girl being bitten by a dog on Thursday night.
Officer Jason James said police responded to 1213 Web Hollow Circle for a report of the girl being bitten by a German Shepherd around 6:50 p.m. She was bitten on the lower leg, and was taken to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, he said.
James said he was unsure of the extent of the girl's injuries.
He said city animal control officers picked the dog up and took it to the Brazos Animal Shelter.
James said police were also investigating a report of a dog bite earlier in the day at the intersection of Texas Avenue and Twin Boulevard. A person made a report at 10:10 a.m. of being bitten by a Blue Heeler 30 minutes earlier, James said.
That person drove to a local medical center, James said. He was not sure of the person's injuries.
James said city animal control officers responded, but he didn't know if they caught the dog.
The owners of the dogs in both cases were cited, he said.
