Bryan truck fire appears intentional, official says

A fire that destroyed a pickup truck in front of a Bryan house early Friday morning appears to have been set intentionally, a fire official said.

Firefighters responded to a call in 1200 block of East 25th Street around 4:15 a.m., Deputy Fire Marshal Fred Taylor said.

The owners of the Ford truck were asleep in the house at the time, and Taylor said he's not sure who reported it. The cab of the truck was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived. No one was injured.

"The current circumstances that we're being told about it in interviews is what's leading us in that (arson) direction," Taylor said.

Officials are still investigating, he said.

There is also the possibility that it the truck belongs to a Bryan man that was seeing a girl from College Station and her College Station friend is jealous. The Brazos County Grand Jury indicted a College Station boy for this (arson) last month.
