Police charged a 36-year-old College Station man with selling cocaine Monday after they searched his home for drugs.
Jorge Ignacio Davila was arrested on a charge of manufacturing or delivering a controlled substance in an amount from four to 200 grams.
Police said after they received information that Davila sells cocaine from his home in the 1000 block of Balcones, they obtained a search warrant and searched his home. Davila told police where he had cocaine in his apartment and admitted to selling it, according to a police report.
Police said they found 55.5 grams of cocaine, and 3.6 grams were divided out into small plastic baggies in approximately $20 amounts. They also found a digital scale and several small unused baggies, according to the report.
Because Davila's apartment is near KinderCare, a drug-free zone, the first-degree felony charge is enhanced and is punishable by up to 104 years in prison and a fine up to $20,000.
Davila remailed in jail Tuesday in lieu of $25,000 bail.
