Former manager accused of stealing from CS apartment complex
A 44-year-old former apartment manager was arrested Tuesday on theft charges after police said she charged a College Station apartment complex for appliances she purchased for her home.
Representatives from Willowick Apartments told police that Tammy Lynn Fails was fired from her job there in March after they discovered she had cashed a corporate check for $2,168 intended to be used for video game systems for residents who signed new leases without purchasing the systems.
The apartment complex manager later told police that Fails charged the complex for a $924 air conditioner and a $389 dishwasher that apartment complex employees said they had installed at Fails' house at her request, according to the police report. Fails also charged the company for a sink and faucet worth $227 that wasn't used at the complex, the report states.
Fails, a College Station resident, was released from the Brazos County Jail on $3,500 bail Tuesday. Theft of between $1,500 and $20,000 is a state jail felony punishable by up to two years in jail and a fine up to $10,000.

Its no wonder this area of College Station is going to seed. The managers they hire from College Station are stealing the owners blind while maintenance becomes non existent.

This type behavior, stealing from the employer, is becoming more and more prevalent in CS. Just recently there have been thefts by CS resident/employees at Churches and WalMart. This is not a good thing for the emerald city.
