One man was killed and another was injured in a rollover accident on F.M. 1774 south of Plantersville in Grimes County.
Texas Department of Public Safety officials in Conroe said Scott Welsey Bridges, a 32-year-old from Montgomery, was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:15 a.m. Thursday.
According to the trooper's report, Bridges was in a vehicle driven by Jeffrey Alan Bridges, 29, of Plantersville.
The vehicle was traveling north on F.M. 1774 around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday when it veered off the roadway, overturning and striking a tree before coming to a stop, according to the report.
The speed limit along that stretch of road is 65 mph, officials said.
Jeffrey Bridges was taken to Grimes St. Joseph Health Center in Navasota with cuts and scratches.
