Investigators probe house fire
By Shauna Lewis

Officials on Thursday were investigating a "suspicious" fire that burned a Bryan home and displaced a large family Wednesday night.
Bryan fire inspector/ investigator William Bouse said it appears the fire - which started at the home in the 1000 block of East 25th Street around 8:30 p.m. - began in the area of the back porch.
"I would say it's suspicious but under investigation," Bouse said, adding fire officials believe the fire originated around the back porch area because of extensive damage there and eyewitness statements.
No charges have been filed, Bouse said.
He said there was "pretty extensive damage" through the front half of the house and structural damage through the back half. He did not have an estimate of damages.
A grandmother, mother and six juveniles lived in the home, he said. Two people were taken to St. Joseph Regional Health Center with minor injuries.
Bryan Fire Chief Mike Donoho said Wednesday that both were treated for light smoke inhalation and heat exhaustion. Donoho said the fire was fully involved when firefighters arrived and the back portion of the roof collapsed shortly afterward, making it impossible for firefighters to get inside. However, he said firefighters knew everyone was already out of the home.
Firefighters used a ladder truck to spray water on the home from above, Donoho said.
The Red Cross offered aid to the residents at the scene.
Eagle reporter Michelle Casady contributed to this report.

KRHD indicates BFD says it is arson. Great, what are the circumstances. Did they find a kerosene can, a blow torch, a bar-b-que pit? What made them decide it was arson? Was one of the kids playing with matches?

Has CSPD located the College Station thug(s) who started the fire at the fourplex on San Pedro yet? BPD might need to look in College Station for the perp if this is deemed arson.

look at the map above that college station police has provided it shows most criminal activity happens in college station, which is not any better than bryan so if you think CS is better than bryan you seriously need to get off your high horse you rode in on and keep your mouth shut. I have been born, raised, graduated and raise my kids in Bryan and I am proud of it.

Are you kidding me? Because there is a fire in Bryan it automatically becomes something that a gangbanger did? Give me a break - gangbangers have better things to do rather than burn down houses. whether or not it was an accident - doesn't mean that gangbangers were involved. Give it a rest - all of BRYAN is not full of criminals. Sorry to break your heart!

Unless you are a trained investigator involved in this particular fire, there is no reason to assume anything. Let's the the pros handle it!
