A Bryan man was in jail Saturday, accused of cutting his ex-girlfriend with a knife.
John Thomas Hedge, 36, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Police said he showed up at the woman's Sims Street home unannounced early Saturday, used a butcher knife to unlock her bedroom door and began arguing with her.
He pushed her down twice and cut her on the forehead, according to the police report. She was treated for the cut at St. Joseph Regional Health Center, police said.
Aggravated assault with a deadly weapon is a first-degree felony punishable by life imprisonment.
Hedge was being held in the Brazos County Jail in lieu of $9,000 bail.
