A man from Chappell Hill was in the Brazos County Jail on Thursday on a felony theft charge after failing to return a car from a test drive, authorities said.
According to the police report, Antonio Dewayne Dorsey, 18, asked to test drive a vehicle from Martinez Auto Sales in Bryan on Dec. 28, and provided a copy of his driver's license.
The owners called police after four hours and reported the $3,600 car stolen. It was found two days later 14 miles from Dorsey's home in Washington County.
An employee identified Dorsey as the man who asked to test drive the vehicle.
He was arrested Wednesday on a state jail felony charge of theft of property, which is punishable by up to two years behind bars.
Dorsey was being held on $5,000 bail.
