-- Eagle Staff Report
A 63-year-old Bryan man died Saturday after apparently falling out of his boat and drowning at Gibbons Creek Reservoir.
Officials from the Grimes County Sheriff's Office said Cecil Banks was found submerged in about 15 feet of water.
Sheriff's officials and game wardens were called to the lake about 4 p.m. after an unoccupied boat was spotted about a quarter-mile from the boat ramp. The boat was about 200 yards from shore, and authorities searched for about 90 minutes before locating Banks' body, Grimes County Sheriff Don Sowell said.
Sowell said Banks regularly fished by himself at the lake.
An autopsy will be conducted and the sheriff's department is investigating, but foul play is not suspected, Sowell said.
